A study of water and sediment measurements in the Paraná River and the subsequent application of a hydrosedimentologicalA study of water and sediment measurements in the Paraná River and the subsequent application of a hydrosedimentological model at the Diamante-Ramallo reach are presented. The study area comprises the mainchannel and the floodplain, covering an approximate extension of 8100 km² of the Lower Paraná River. In afirst stage, the hydrographs and sedigraphs entering to the modeling domain were generated. The collectionand processing of records of levels and discharges (liquid and solid) is necessary, both for the generation ofinput signals in the simulations and for the evaluating results. A data collection of recorded discharges wascarried out in the middle section of the Paraná River at the Santa Fe-Paraná transect and at the confluencezone of the Bermejo-Paraguay-Paraná rivers. These data are published periodically by the SSRH of theNation. In addition a sedigraph was generated with records of suspended sediment transport, which waspropagated up to the contour upstream and it was compared with solid measurements available in the area.Subsequently, the hydro-sedimentological model CTSS8-FLUSED was applied, for the period September2010-August 2015. The hydrodynamic results are satisfactory, an acceptable fit is achieved in thereproduction of flows and water levels in the checkpoints. The sediment deposition results in the floodplainvary between 10 and 16×106 t/year, and its trapping efficiency varies between 21% and 43%.
